Captain Anthony M. Wickersham

Chief of Staff Anthony Wickersham began his career as a Correctional Officer at the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office on January 29 th, 1986. He was promoted to Deputy Sheriff on January 20 th, 1990 were he was assigned to the Macomb Township Substation. He also was a member of the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) were he was a narcotics investigator.

Chief of Staff Wickersham was promoted to Sergeant 1 and assigned to the afternoon shift until being transferred to the Detective Bureau. On January 25 th, 1997 he was promoted to full Sergeant and supervised personnel on the midnight shift. He was selected to be the Administrative Sergeant in the Detective Bureau. Chief of Staff Wickersham was promoted to Lieutenant on March 25 th, 2000 and spent a short time on the midnight shift until he became the Detective Lieutenant in charge of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau. On June, 23 rd, 2001 he was promoted to his current position as Chief of Staff.

Chief of Staff Wickersham is a Firearms Instructor and Hostage/Crisis Negotiator at the Sheriff’s Office.

Chief of Staff Wickersham’s education consists of a Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Macomb County Community College. He has been working on his Bachelor’s Degree with Wayne State University in Interdisciplinary Studies. He graduated from the 208 th session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico Virginia. He also graduated from the 211 th Session of Northwestern University Center of Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command. Chief of Staff Wickersham also attended the Secret Service Dignitary Protection Seminar in Washington D.C.
