Lieutenant Greg Stone

Greg Stone is the Administrative Lieutenant for the Sheriff’s Office.  His current responsibilities include Civil Service promotions and hiring, liquor licensing and investigations and grant administration. Lieutenant Stone began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 1976 under then Sheriff Lester Almstadt as a Corrections Officer. 

Through his career he has been assigned to the Traffic Bureau, Marine Division, SWAT, Field Training Officer, Detective Bureau, Road Patrol Supervisor and the Firearms Coordinator.

Lieutenant Stone has received recognition throughout the years from both the department and private sector including; The Special Olympics, The Detroit Police Department, The Mt Clemens Elk’s Club, the Michigan Air National Guard and the Clinton Valley Council of Boy Scouts.

In addition, Lieutenant Stone has earned over fifty-seven certificates of training in such areas as Terrorism and Countermeasures, Excited Delirium and In Custody Death and Archangel Multiple Terrorists Tactics from such institutions as the Smith & Wesson Academy in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Lieutenant Stone’s formal education includes:
