Lieutenant Jeffery Brossard began his association with the sheriff’s office in 1981 as a sheriff’s explorer with our department’s post #565. He worked his way up through the ranks to achieve the rank of Inspector. In 1986 he was hired by Sheriff Bill Hackel as a corrections officer. As a corrections officer Lt. Brossard worked the contracted MDOC floors and the booking desk. In 1991 he attended the Macomb Police academy (MCJ 11-91) and was promoted in December 1991 to deputy sheriff. Lt. Brossard was assigned to the Bruce substation before moving to the Macomb substation, where he spent many years as one of the community police officers in Macomb.
In January 1999, Lt. Brossard was promoted to sergeant 1 and assigned to the detective bureau where he handled a variety of cases. In June 2001, Lt. Brossard was promoted to sergeant and assigned to supervise the dispatch center/court cars. In 2003 he returned to the road patrol. Since 2004 he has been assigned to the dayshift road patrol.
In November 2011 Sheriff Anthony Wickersham promoted Brossard to lieutenant and assigned him to the midnight shift.
Lt. Brossard has attended many different advanced courses at the Macomb police academy over his 25 year career at the sheriff’s office and has over 700 hours in course work.
Lt. Brossard has degrees from the following universities

· Siena Heights University BS
· Mountain State University MA
Lt. Brossard has started his PhD from Capella University with a Major in Public Safety Administration.
In his off-duty hours Lt. Brossard is a paid on call firefighter for his community. He holds a basic EMT license and is trained in ice rescue and hazardous materials. Lt. Brossard holds a senior command position in the fire service.
Lt. Brossard is married with three children and resides in New Baltimore.
