The Macomb County Sheriff's Motorcycle Unit deputies perform the following functions:

• Traffic enforcement 
• Dignitary protection and escort 
• Parades and special events 
• Educational and school activities 

The primary function of the Sheriff Motorcycle Unit is traffic enforcement and traffic control.

The unit is utilized at large public events or concerts.
