Lieutenant Craig Sparks


Lieutenant Craig Sparks began his career on January of 1987 as a Correctional Officer.  He was promoted to Deputy Sheriff in 1989. 

As a Deputy Sheriff, he worked in various positions including the Road Patrol, the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET), and was the first Deputy assigned to the Friend of the Court Enforcement Team.  

He was promoted to Sergeant 1 in 2000 and assigned to the Detective Bureau as the Administrative Sergeant.  In 2002, he was promoted to Sergeant and had various assignments including SET, the Midnight Shift Commander, the Mt. Clemens Sub Station Commander, and the SWAT Commander.  

In 2010, when he was promoted to Lieutenant, he worked midnights and then was assigned to Internal Affairs.

Lt. Sparks is very active with the SWAT Unit, and has been a member for 16 years of his career.
